- How to Choose the Right Shopify Agency for Your Business
Most “best Shopify agencies” lists are pay-to-play.
You know the type.
Agencies paying for placement, recycled descriptions, zero real data…
I’ve been in ecommerce since 2004… and before that, I was building websites and ranking them on AltaVista back in 1996 (Google was not yet a significant player at that time).
In over 20 years of running an agency, I’ve worked alongside, competed against, and partnered with dozens of Shopify agencies across the country.
This list is different.
These are agencies I respect… agencies doing real work, getting real results, and treating their clients like partners, not invoice numbers.
How I Put This List Together
No paid placements. No affiliate links. I looked at three things:
Track record.
How long have they been doing this?
Ecommerce is not something you learn from a YouTube course.
Experience matters.
Specialization.
Do they actually focus on Shopify, or is it just one of 47 platforms on their website?
The best agencies go deep, not wide.
Results (the most important of all… I’m result-driven).
Can they show real numbers?
Real client outcomes?
Or is it all “we create beautiful experiences” with no data behind it?
Let’s jump in.
1. FJ Solutions (Miami, FL)

Website: fjsolutions.com
Founded: 2004
Focus: DTC, beauty and charity brands on Shopify
Services: SEO, Paid Media, Email Marketing (Klaviyo), CRO, Web Design, Ecommerce and Shopify Plus Development
I’ll be direct… this is my agency… BUT, I’m putting us first because I genuinely believe no one brings what we bring to the table.
FJ Solutions has been building and growing ecommerce stores since 2004.
Let that sink in.
That’s over 20 years of ecommerce experience.
We were doing this before Shopify even existed.
Before Instagram was a thing.
Before “DTC” was a buzzword.
We’ve migrated stores from Magento, OpenCart, PrestaShop, Zen Cart, Joomla… you name it, we’ve lived through it. And survived.
Our approach is data-driven and outcome-oriented.
We don’t sell “pretty websites”.
We sell revenue growth backed by real numbers.
When we work with a client, we track CLV, CAC, churn rate, AOV, and gross margin.
Not vanity metrics. REAL business metrics.
Recent work:
We launched DAMA by Nadia Ferreira, the official fragrance brand from Nadia Ferreira (Miss Universe Paraguay 2021).
A full Shopify build from scratch… brand identity, store development, product launch strategy.
The perfume sold out within days of launch.
Other client results include +407% revenue growth for Goldie Locks and +330% for IBE Hair Extensions.
How many agencies on any “best of” list can show you a track record going back to 2004? Very few. That experience is not something you can fake or fast-track.
Best for:
Charities, DTC brands, beauty and personal care brands, and businesses that want a partner who actually understands the numbers behind ecommerce growth.

Website: stryde.com
Focus: Boutique ecommerce marketing
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Stryde is a small but focused ecommerce marketing firm out of Salt Lake City.
They work with carefully vetted brands and take a candid approach to marketing strategy.
Not every agency is willing to tell a client “this isn’t working.” Stryde is.
They specialize in driving traffic and conversions for ecommerce brands through SEO, paid ads, and content marketing.
Their boutique size means you’re not getting passed off to a junior account manager.
Best for:
Ecommerce brands that want a focused, honest marketing partner in the Mountain West.
3. BLKDG (Denver, CO)

Website: blkdg.com
Focus: Shopify design, development, and Klaviyo
Location: Denver, Colorado (Tennyson District)
BLKDG (pronounced “Black Dog”) is a Denver-based agency specializing in Shopify and Klaviyo.
They’re a tight team of designers, builders, and strategists.
What I like about BLKDG is they’re transparent about what they do and don’t do.
They focus on Shopify, Klaviyo, and SEO. That’s it.
No trying to be everything to everyone.
Top-rated on Clutch.co, and their clients consistently mention fair pricing and solid execution.

Pacific Northwest brands needing custom Shopify builds or platform migrations.
6. Solver Collective (Portland, OR)

Founded: 2006

Solver Collective has been around since 2006, which in digital agency years is a LONG time.
They specialize in Shopify for ecommerce and Shopify POS for retail.
The omnichannel angle is real… they helped an iconic American ranch migrate to Shopify and Shopify POS for a full omnichannel experience.
They also offer photography, video, 3D/motion, and analytics.
A creative team with technical depth.

Best for:
Brands that need accessible, ADA-compliant ecommerce stores with strong design.
8. O8 (Minneapolis, MN)

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
O8 is a full-service, technical agency out of Minneapolis.
They combine Shopify development with SEO, content strategy, UX, and data-driven decision making.
Their team includes senior developers and strong technical leadership.
In my experience, having senior-level technical people on a project makes all the difference. You pay more, but you avoid the mistakes that cost you time and money later.
Best for:
B2B and ecommerce brands that need technical depth alongside marketing strategy.

Location: Portland, Oregon
BrillianceNW specializes in Shopify stores with a focus on fast load times, seamless navigation, and conversion-optimized design.
They pair development with digital marketing campaigns across Google Ads, social media, and email.
What I appreciate about their approach is that they think about what happens AFTER the store is built.
Driving traffic is half the battle. Converting that traffic is where the money is.
Best for:
Portland-area businesses that want development and marketing under one roof.
12. Little Guy Branding (Omaha, NE)

Website: lgxbranding.com

Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Little Guy Branding is exactly what the name suggests… a small, personal agency that gives you individual attention.
They build on Shopify for ecommerce and include training sessions so you and your team know how to manage your store.
When they build a website, you own it completely.
That might sound obvious, but you’d be surprised how many agencies lock you into their hosting and their systems.
Best for:
Small businesses in Nebraska and the Midwest that want hands-on, personal service and full ownership of their store.
13. Conspire Agency (Los Angeles, CA)

Nashville-area businesses that want a hands-on local partner for ecommerce.
15. Evolve Systems (St. Paul, MN)

Website: evolvesystems.com
Founded: 1993
Focus: Branding, ecommerce development, SEO, and mobile apps
Location: St. Paul, Minnesota
Evolve Systems has been around since 1993. In this industry, that’s almost unheard of. They’ve survived every wave of technology… and adapted.
They offer branding, ecommerce development, mobile apps, and SEO.
Their longevity speaks to their ability to evolve (no pun intended) with the market.
Best for:
Established businesses looking for a partner with decades of experience and a full range of digital services.
How to Choose the Right Shopify Agency for Your Business

Picking an agency is not just about budget. Here are the things I look at when evaluating any ecommerce partner:
1. How long have they been doing this?
Ecommerce changes fast. An agency with 5+ years of real Shopify experience has seen enough to know what works and what doesn’t. An agency with 10 or 20 years? They’ve survived platform shifts, algorithm changes, and market crashes. That kind of experience is invaluable.
2. Do they show real results?
Not testimonials. Not awards. Real numbers. Revenue growth, conversion rate improvements, traffic increases. If an agency can not show you data, be careful.
3. Do they understand YOUR business model?
A DTC beauty brand has very different needs than a B2B manufacturer. Make sure the agency has experience in your vertical.
4. What happens after launch?
Building a store is just the beginning. The real work starts when you need to drive traffic, optimize conversions, and grow revenue month over month. Choose an agency that offers ongoing support, not just a one-time build.
5. Do they own the tech stack?
Make sure you own your store, your domain, your data. Never work with an agency that locks you into their proprietary systems.
There are thousands of Shopify agencies in the USA. Most of them are fine. Some of them are great. Very few have been doing this long enough to truly understand what drives ecommerce growth.
If you’re looking for an agency that combines over 20 years of ecommerce experience with a data-driven, outcome-oriented approach… I’d love to talk.
