Building the Technical Backbone Behind Ecommerce Growth

I started programming in 1994, and over the following decades worked across several technology companies, leading development teams before joining FJ Solutions. Ecommerce became the constant thread through most of that journey, 20 years of building the software that keeps online stores running when the traffic hits and the orders start piling up.

At FJ Solutions, where I’ve been for 18 years, my focus expanded from writing code to leading the people who write it. Today I lead a squad of developers building custom solutions with Node.js, React, and React Native, backed by relational databases, for clients running on Shopify, WordPress, and fully custom platforms. As CTO, my day-to-day splits between staying hands-on as a back-end and full-stack developer and managing the development area as a whole: capacity planning, performance processes, and keeping engineering, design, and operations moving in the same direction.
